The aim of a teaser trailer is to not give away all the narrative as alot of trailers do, it gives the audience a higher level of narrative enigma and generates interest and hype before the release. They can be produced whilst a film is in production this would most common for indie film makers like ourselves, an example of a teaser trailer that was realesed well before its viewing date is toy story 3, this was made possible because its part of a conglomerate and is a very well known film.
